Volunteers from 10 countries to attend 6th international school of Belarus Red Cross

The Belarusian Red Cross Society will host its sixth international school on preparedness for emergencies on 25-30 July, BelTA learned from the Belarus Red Cross.

Attending the school will be 120 people from ten countries such as Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Bulgaria, Latvia, Norway, Estonia, Qatar, and Belarus. Among the invitees are experts from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.

The training will be held at the institute of retraining and enhancing the qualifications of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus (Borisov District). Volunteers will train a procedure of steps to be taken in case of a blast on a train carrying chemicals, deploying a camp for the accommodation of the injured, evacuating the injured by helicopters and special-purpose off-road vehicles.

The program will include master classes on safety at the aviation transport and disaster response with the use of high-altitude equipment, the search of the lost in the woods, restoration of family links in emergency, crowd psychology, preparedness to work in crowded places. The training will be held by specialists from Belarus, Ukraine, and Bulgaria.
