June 22 - Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People

Dear residents of Beshenkovichi District!

June 22 is a sorrowful and sacred date for every Belarusian. On this day, we commemorate the Day of National Remembrance of the Victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian People.

85 years have passed since that tragic morning of 1941, when the fascist invaders treacherously invaded our land, but time cannot erase from memory the greatness of the feat of the Fatherland's defenders, nor the pain of loss and sorrow for the innocent victims of genocide.

The war brought untold suffering and grief to every home. The Beshenkovichi region fully experienced the horrors of occupation: peaceful citizens were ruthlessly exterminated, youth were driven into slavery, and our villages were wiped off the face of the earth. Every name of a fallen fellow countryman, every burned-down settlement is an unhealed wound in the history of our region.

Today, under unprecedented external pressure, we acutely realize the value of peace, sovereignty, and independence. Our sacred duty is to firmly defend historical truth, to resolutely suppress any attempts to distort the outcomes of that terrible war and to whitewash the crimes of the Nazis. The investigation into the facts of the genocide of the Belarusian people proves: we have no right to forget the monstrous consequences of losing vigilance and neglecting the lessons of the past.
We bow our heads low to the memory of those who died under bombings, were tortured in concentration camps, and fell in fierce battles for the liberation of our Motherland. We express our deep gratitude to our veterans and witnesses of those terrible years for their courage, resilience, and patriotism.

Dear compatriots! Let us together preserve peace and harmony on our blessed land. With our creative work, unity, and loyalty to our native Belarus, we will prove that the memory of the great feat and the great tragedy is alive in our hearts.

Eternal memory to the fallen heroes and innocent victims of the war! Peace, goodness, and prosperity to our native Beshenkovichi district and the entire Republic of Belarus!
