April 26 - Day of Remembrance of the Chernobyl Tragedy
Dear participants in the liquidation of the Chernobyl NPP accident, dear compatriots!
Every year on April 26, we commemorate a tragic event – the accident at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant, honor the memory of the people who participated in the liquidation of its consequences, who showed true courage and self-sacrifice in the performance of their duty.
39 years have passed since the largest man-made disaster in human history. Millions of people were exposed to radiation, hundreds of thousands lost their health and homes, their small homeland. Chernobyl has forever become a symbol of great human grief. Liquidators, people of different nationalities and professions, did a colossal job to minimize the consequences of the tragedy in the economy, agriculture, and social sphere. Our compatriots, whom we are grateful to for their titanic work and courage, took part in preventing the further spread of radiation. Their lives and greatness of spirit are an example for the younger generation.
The Chernobyl tragedy is a painful reminder and an invaluable lesson for the future. A lesson that will never lose its relevance. The memory of Chernobyl lives on, and the feats of employees and volunteers who worked at the accident site, their unwavering spirit and dedication continue to inspire and move people's hearts. We bow our heads to the bright memory of those who bravely stood up to protect humanity from nuclear danger, who first took the blow of an invisible enemy and sacrificed their own lives to protect the world from the deadly breath of the Chernobyl catastrophe.
Dear friends, thank you very much for this feat! We wish you good health, peaceful skies, happiness, and well-being! May human gratitude always be with you!
