June 26 - Day of Public Prosecutor's Office Employees
Public Prosecutor's Office employees celebrate their professional holiday on June 26. The history began on June 26, 1922, when the third session of the Central Executive Committee of the BSSR adopted the Regulation on Prosecutorial Supervision. In connection with the formation of the Vitebsk Region in 1938, the Vitebsk Regional Public Prosecutor's Office was established. Today, the institution of prosecutorial supervision is undergoing a new stage of its development. In accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the Public Prosecutor's Office is entrusted with the functions of strengthening legality and public safety, maintaining state prosecution in courts, ensuring constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens, while the fundamental principles of legality and justice, proven by time, remain at the core of the Public Prosecutor's Office's activities.
A large amount of work has been done in this direction. As a result - a decrease in the crime rate. If last year 59 crimes were committed during this period, then this year - 49, which is 16.9% less. The level of recidivism has decreased (23 crimes were committed in 5 months of 2018, 18 crimes in the same period of 2019). The number of crimes committed while intoxicated has decreased.
During the past period of 2019, the District Public Prosecutor's Office submitted 32 acts of prosecutorial response, protested more than 10 illegal resolutions, issued 6 official warnings to categorized citizens, and as a result of the measures taken, more than 100 persons were brought to disciplinary responsibility, and more than 50 - to material responsibility. 28 lawsuits were filed in the interests of citizens and organizations.
The staff of the Public Prosecutor's Office is small and quite young. And this is a huge bonus in their work. Deputy Prosecutor Vitaly Doylidov has held this position for more than a year, but even in such a short period, he has managed to establish himself as a competent prosecutor who promptly responds to violations of legality. Assistant Prosecutor Ekaterina Kabachevskaya has been working in the District Public Prosecutor's Office for more than two years, engaged in maintaining state prosecution in court, while taking an active and principled stance.

The District Prosecutor's Office would also not be able to function without the head of the chancellery, Babenkova Lyudmila Pavlovna, the cleaner of the office premises, Kukhto Svetlana Vasilievna, and the driver, Malakhov Sergey Anatolievich, who ensure the operability of our operational staff.
