35th "Slavianski Bazaar": Who from Beshenkovichi will perform at the anniversary festival in Vitebsk
This year, the International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" celebrates its 35th anniversary. The jubilee forum will be held from July 14 to 20 and promises to be a truly large-scale event: organizers expect over 7,000 participants from more than 40 countries. The festival, born in 1992 as a symbol of cultural unity of Slavic peoples, has grown over three and a half decades into one of Belarus's brightest brands.
On the eve of the anniversary, the "35 Events in Anticipation of Slavianski Bazaar" campaign has started in Vitebsk. An art object "Festival Calendar. Countdown" has been installed on Freedom Square, its pages are turned daily, revealing the festival's chronicle from 1992 to the present day. And at the entrance to the festival directorate, a bronze Valoshka with a microphone has appeared – the seventh mini-sculpture in the city, which, according to the creators' idea, will become a symbol of a creative person.
The renovated exhibition hall "Dukhovskoy Kruglik" deserves special attention – an octagonal tower of the 14th century, which after modernization has five exhibition levels. Here, the photo exhibition "Festival Up Close" is displayed, as well as an interactive zone where visitors can feel like archaeologists. In the same hall, since July 3, a personal exhibition of master Galina Khonyak from the Beshenkovichi House of Crafts has been open. Our district has been given the opportunity to announce itself at one of the main festival venues in Vitebsk, and we are confident that Galina Khonyak's works will resonate with guests and residents of the regional center.
Other representatives of the Beshenkovichi district will also take an active part in the jubilee forum program. The "Rhythm" ensemble of drummers and majorettes of the Beshenkovichi Children's Art School will showcase their talents at the International Festival-Competition of Drummers and Majorettes. The folk song ensembles "Vesyalukha" and "Ulyanochka" will perform in the concert program "Talents for the Festival". On July 18, the XIII National Dance Tournament "Tanchym Razam" will be held on Freedom Square, where the district will be represented by the household dance collective "Kruzhali". On the same day, the park will host a competition for presentations of branded sites of the Vitebsk regions, where Beshenkovichi will present the "Beshenkovicki Rayok" site.
On July 19, the open regional competition of folk music and chastushka "A muzyki hrayut, hrayut..." will take place on Freedom Square. Nina Cherep, a soloist of the folk folklore collective "Krynitsa" of the Bocheykovsky Rural House of Culture, and Svetlana Baradulya, a soloist of the Ulla Rural House of Culture, will defend the district's honor in the chastushka competition. Vasily Kritsky (Bocheykovsky Rural House of Culture) and Valery Gayko (Drozdovsky Rural Club) will perform in the accordionists competition.
Masters of the House of Crafts will take part in the "Vitebsk Patterns" competition, and will also traditionally present their works at the "City of Masters" craft fair.
The 35th "Slavianski Bazaar" promises to be a bright page in the history of the festival. And the cultural workers of Beshenkovichi have every opportunity to make their worthy contribution to it. We wish our compatriots good luck and new creative victories!
