Alexander Lukashenko supported the proposal to extend the visa-free regime for residents of Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland for 2023
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko supported the proposal of the Council of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to extend the visa-free regime with Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland for 2023. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the President of Belarus.
Recall that from April 15, 2022, visa-free travel was introduced for citizens of Lithuania and Latvia, as well as persons with non-citizen status of Latvia, and from July 1, 2022, for citizens of Poland. The relevant entry procedure is valid until the end of the current year.
During the period of the visa-free regime, almost 370 thousand EU citizens visited Belarus (citizens of Lithuania - more than 70%, Latvia - about 20%, Poland - 10%).
In confirmation of our country's openness, commitment to good neighborliness, and strengthening of interethnic ties, a decision has been made today to extend the visa-free regime. Citizens of Lithuania, Latvia, and Poland will continue to be able to visit the Republic of Belarus without hindrance, meet with relatives, visit burial sites, and receive medical and other services.
