Alexander Rogozhnik Appointed Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has appointed Alexander Rogozhnik as Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Until now, the new head of the region served as the Ambassador of Belarus to Russia.

Alexander Rogozhnik was born in 1976 in Gomel.

In 1998, he graduated from Francysk Skaryna Gomel State University with a degree in "Accounting, Control, and Economic Activity Analysis," after which he served in the internal affairs bodies.

In 2009-2011, he underwent retraining at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Belarus with a specialization in "Public Administration of the National Economy."

He began his professional career in 1999, taking a position as an inspector in the "Gomel-Passenger" department of the Gomel Customs post. In 2000, he worked as the chief specialist of the regional development department of the "Gomel-Raton" free economic zone administration. He then held the position of marketing department manager at one of the enterprises for two years, after which he moved to work at the Ministry of Energy, where he was initially a chief specialist and later an economic advisor in the economic department.

From 2003 to 2006, he returned to the production sector, heading one private unitary trading enterprise and then another.

In 2006, he returned to work within the structure of the Ministry of Energy, where he served as Deputy Head of the Economic Department and Head of the Economic Analysis Department.

From 2008 to 2010, he headed the economics department of the administration of the Leninsky District of Minsk. For a year, he managed the scientific and production republican unitary enterprise "KBTEM-ITC". After that, he moved to head another enterprise, OJSC "Optoelectronic Systems", where he worked from 2011 to 2018.

From 2018 to 2022, he was the General Director of OJSC "Management Company of the Holding "Minsk Motor Plant".

From 2022 to 2024, he served as the Minister of Industry.

In June 2024, he was appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation.
