Alexander Subbotin Meets with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic

Development of ties in various spheres was discussed at the meeting between the Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Belarus Erbol Sultanbaev.

Erbol Sultanbaev, as a guest, has visited Vitebsk many times during cultural and other events, but the current visit is his first official one. As Alexander Subbotin noted, a business meeting with the head of the diplomatic mission of the Central Asian state will strengthen friendly ties and give an impetus to the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Our countries have many points of contact. Belarus and Kyrgyzstan are at the crossroads of important transport and logistics routes in their regions and are members of associations such as the CIS, EAEU, CSTO, and SCO.

– Relations between the Vitebsk region and the Kyrgyz Republic are developing dynamically and successfully in the economic and social spheres. Trade turnover for the current half-year equals the annual turnover for 2025, – emphasized the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Anzhelika Nikitina. – Our enterprises export cable, meat and dairy products, carpet and tufted floor coverings, trade equipment, medicines, plastic products, and other goods. The Kyrgyz Republic supplies us with vegetables, fruits, and components for mechanical engineering.

The meeting focused on the vast potential of the Vitebsk region and Kyrgyzstan for expanding business ties, not only in industry but also in culture, healthcare, education, and tourism. One of the promising areas is participation in the construction of a railway connecting China, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Uzbekistan. Currently, over 20 enterprises in the region are ready to supply products (cables, metal structures, electronics, building materials) and provide construction services for this large-scale project. There are also prospects for utilizing the capabilities of our "Bremimo – Orsha" logistics terminals and the under-construction "Beltamožservis" for goods promotion.

Cooperation ties and the establishment of sister-city relationships between one of the regions of Vitebsk and a province or city in Kyrgyzstan were also discussed.
