Alexander Volfovich Familiarized Himself with the Production of a Defense Sector Enterprise in Orsha District
During a working visit to Orsha District, Secretary of State of the Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich visited an enterprise within the system of the State Military Industrial Committee. The Lieutenant General familiarized himself with the production, the progress of project implementation, and assessed the current situation.
– In a short period, this enterprise has made great strides. Production has been organized in a completely different way. It is equipped with modern machinery and specialists. A lot has been done in a year. Both the plant management and the military-industrial committee leadership approach tasks with understanding, – noted Alexander Volfovich.
He emphasized that the President of our country has entrusted the State Secretariat with the control of supplying new types of weapons to the armed forces and other paramilitary organizations.
– Today, the global situation is challenging – military conflicts are erupting in various parts of the world, and hostilities are ongoing. Belarus is located in the center of Europe, and all these processes affect our republic. Unfortunately, the level of military threats is increasing. This is despite the peaceful initiatives, proposals, and peaceful rhetoric coming from our head of state. We see unfriendly actions towards Belarus, accusations that we pose a threat to the European continent. Belarus does not prioritize militarization or increasing the size of its armed forces – which is what Poland and the Baltic states are doing. Attempts to destabilize the situation, instigated by Western curators and our "fugitives," continue unabated. Everything related to security, including military security, is under the control of our President – he has his finger on the pulse, – noted the Secretary of State of the Security Council.
To protect its national interests, there must be its own models of armaments and military equipment.
He recalled that a meeting was held last week where the head of state was briefed on the main issues concerning missile manufacturing.
– This is a completely new industry for our country. In just 5 years, we have established this production from scratch and trained our specialists. The President was interested in the direction for future development and the paths we envision. The leadership of the State Military Industrial Committee and the Ministry of Defense have outlined the development prospects for this sector. There are new developments. We have mastered the production of ammunition for artillery systems and multiple rocket launchers by reformatting some civilian enterprises, and we have truly achieved modern technologies for producing ammunition for our armed forces. This also includes export products, which, unfortunately, are in demand, – emphasized the Secretary of State of the Security Council.
In a conversation with journalists, Lieutenant General said that much has been done in terms of developing electronic warfare systems, optical systems, protection systems, and personnel equipment.
– Missiles, robots, aircraft – these are important. But the most important thing on the battlefield today remains the human, the soldier, who carries out tasks. He needs to be protected, armed, – emphasized Alexander Volfovich. - And considering our Belarusian forest and swampy terrain, we are focusing on the development of our models of weapons, military equipment, and personnel protection systems. All this is not to threaten our neighbors, but to protect national interests, to ensure peace and security for our people. We are not threatening anyone, but we are preparing to defend our sovereignty and territorial integrity. This is what our grandfathers achieved 80 years ago with weapons in their hands, liberating the country from the Nazi invaders.
