Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters (BYPA)

The Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters was established in October 2001 on the initiative of clubs of young rescuers-firefighters. Today, the BYPA RF is one of the largest organizations in Belarus, operating in all its regions.

The activities of the BYPA RF are aimed at the civic and patriotic education of children and youth, teaching the basics of life safety, developing the creative abilities of the younger generation, popularizing and teaching the profession of rescuer-firefighter; developing fire and rescue sports, and charity.

To achieve these goals, the BYPA RF, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Education, organizes a number of events. Some of them are traditional and are held annually.

Throughout the year, BYPA RF members hold safety days, various competitions and quizzes on life safety issues, tent camps, sessions in health resorts, and other events where life safety issues are studied and skills for safe behavior and correct actions in emergency situations are practiced. Charity events are held, fostering a sense of compassion and mutual assistance in children.

Since 2004, the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters has been publishing the children's and youth magazine "Young Rescuer" – an educational and methodological publication that contributes to the upbringing of youth and the teaching of children and adolescents the basics of life safety. Since 2008, the BYPA RF has been one of the founders of the International Association of Youth Public Organizations of Firefighters-Rescuers, established to promote cooperation among youth from different countries in the field of life safety.

Structural divisions of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Firefighters exist in every settlement of Belarus.
