Residents of Beshenkovichi took part in the regional event "Victory Breakthrough"
Last Friday, on the eve of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory, grateful descendants gathered at the "Breakthrough" memorial in Ushachi District to pay tribute and respect to those who fought and worked for the good of our Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
The 10th regional patriotic event "Breakthrough of Victory" was held here, dedicated to the 81st anniversary of the breakthrough of the enemy blockade by partisans of the Polotsk-Lepel partisan zone. A delegation from Beshenkovichi District, led by the Chairman of the District Executive Committee Galina Unukovich and the Chairman of the District Council of Deputies Gennady Shvedov, also participated in the event.
Before the start of the solemn rally at the "Breakthrough" memorial complex, thematic platforms, exhibitions, and photo zones were set up, and demonstration performances by military personnel took place. Everyone had the opportunity to try soldier's porridge and purchase souvenirs. Our Ulla College presented the "Museum on Wheels" of the Hero of the Soviet Union Lev Dovator.

"It is symbolic that Mikhail Yegorov, a scout born in the Smolensk region, who later raised the Victory Banner over the Reichstag, broke through the blockade ring in the ranks of one of the partisan detachments," noted the head of the region. He thanked the representatives of the Russian delegation, led by the Chairman of the Smolensk Regional Duma, Igor Lyakhov, for supporting the event, thereby emphasizing that Belarus and Russia demonstrate unity in defending historical memory in the face of the challenges and threats posed to our states. The main lessons of the Great Victory are lessons of cohesion and unity of peoples in confronting violence and enslavement. Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers accomplished an unprecedented feat lasting 1418 days and achieved the Great Victory, demonstrating examples of courage, bravery, and heroism.
"Time passes. The world changes. And we change with it. But memory remains with us! Our hearts are filled with gratitude to the generation of Victors, who set an example of faithful service to the Motherland. It is thanks to them that we have the opportunity today to live in peace, work, raise children, and build the future of our native country," Alexander Subbotin is confident.
Participants of the solemn rally honored the memory of the fallen with a minute of silence, laid wreaths and flowers. Then the event continued with the festive concert "In the Name of Peace on Earth" with the participation of creative groups from the Vitebsk region.
