Beshankovichy. 101 questions to a rescuer!

The Republican information and propaganda campaign "Youth for Safety!" is traditionally timed to coincide with the birthday of the Belarusian Youth Organization of Fire Rescuers. As part of the campaign, activists of the BYOFR engage in assisting elderly citizens, actively disseminate information about the organization's activities, conduct thematic meetings, balls and discos, bike rides, sports festivals, and, of course, recruit new members.
Last week, as part of an event, students of the Rzhavskaya Basic School named after M. Gelovani in the Beshenkovichi district had a unique opportunity to ask questions to the Deputy Head of the Beshenkovichi District Department for Emergency Situations, Alexey Golub. The dialogue platform "101 Questions to a Rescuer" is an opportunity to talk as equals. The topic was not determined in advance, so the range of questions was as broad as possible – from "How to become a rescuer?" to "Why does fire burn?". For example, it was quite unexpected for the children to learn that the rescuer's combat clothing and helmet are produced in our country. The children were convinced that rescuers purchase such modern equipment abroad. They were also interested in questions about admission to educational institutions of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the living conditions of cadets, and the complexity of training. They also discussed how rescuers find people lost in the forest, communication during fires, and the technical characteristics of fire trucks.
The children particularly enjoyed the format of the event. Active members of the Belarusian Youth Public Association of Rescuers-Publicists randomly selected a student, placed a rescuer's helmet on their head, and only after that the selected student could ask their question. Over time, the questions became more sophisticated and complex, and the 45 minutes of the academic hour flew by unnoticed.
To conclude the event, the rescuer announced that the subscription campaign for the magazine "Young Rescuer" will begin soon. The magazine's pages offer even more information on life safety, helping readers avoid emergency situations.
