Beshankovichy. "Battle for the Harvest!"
The workday of rescuers in the Beshenkovichi district has, for several weeks now, begun with visits to facilities involved in the 2023 harvest campaign. The purpose is to remind agricultural workers of the strict observance of fire safety rules and to ensure that equipment is operated in accordance with regulatory requirements.
This week alone, 7 preventive raids have been conducted directly in the fields. Additionally, 4 grain drying complexes and 6 grain storage facilities have been inspected. During these operations, rescuers inform machine operators about the number of fires across the country that have resulted in damage or destruction of agricultural machinery. The causes of such fires are quite common: dust, straw on pulleys, oil leaks, and violations of electrical equipment operating or design rules.
No gross violations of fire safety rules were identified during the raids. Personnel are trained, and grain harvesting equipment is equipped with primary fire extinguishing means everywhere. However, several instances of missing fire extinguishers on trucks involved in grain transportation were noted. Enterprise managers were immediately informed of the identified violations to take corrective actions.
"The battle for the harvest" is not just a figure of speech; it is an expression filled with deep meaning. Harvesting is a battle against time, weather, and, sadly, often against one's own laziness. Yet, there is nothing complicated about adhering to safety rules. Daily monitoring of equipment maintenance and a sense of responsibility for the work that should provide every family with the bread of the 2023 harvest are sufficient.
