Beshankovichy. On the safety of cafe visitors.
It is no secret that most fires and accidents are caused by human error, and often an unextinguished cigarette is the cause of a fire. As part of the republican campaign "Don't Burn Your Life!", which aims to prevent fires due to careless handling of fire while smoking, rescuers, together with activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Association for Rescuers (BYPAS), visited the "Mango" cafe, located in the urban-type settlement of Beshenkovichi.
Rescuers spoke about the purpose of the ongoing campaign and urged cafe visitors who have the habit of smoking to quit. They also touched upon the importance of observing fire safety rules, the neglect of which can lead to tragic consequences. A quiz game was held with the citizens, during which they learned a lot about the dangers of smoking.
The attention of visitors was drawn to a life-size mascot "Fire Extinguisher," which offered cafe guests to exchange a cigarette for a candy. All participants of the event received preventive booklets, the information in which motivates them to decide to quit smoking.
Also, as part of the information and propaganda campaign "Don't wait for a squirrel – extinguish the butt!", aimed at reducing the number of fires due to careless handling of fire while smoking and the deaths of people in fires in the district's stores, rescuers are placing leaflets on stands calling for caution while smoking, and fire safety-themed neck hangers on bottles of alcoholic beverages.
