Beshankovichy. A raid was conducted to restore order

Annually, settlements are enveloped in smoke from burning grass, peat, and forest fires. Local residents suffer from suffocating smoke, hundreds of species of small insects and animals perish in the grass, and significant damage is inflicted on the forest fund. In order to minimize the consequences of such fires in ecosystems, as well as to reduce their number, a commission study of the work on tidying up the land and improving settlements in the Vitebsk region was conducted in the Beshenkovichi district, with the participation of representatives of the "Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations" Valery Filippov, as well as representatives of the forestry department for the Vitebsk region and a representative of the land management department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
During the raid, all cases of fires in the district and the causes contributing to their occurrence were examined in detail. Commission members conducted a raid on the most problematic areas where territories are still uncleared of dry vegetation and bushes, and familiarized themselves with the equipment of the Beshenkovichi forestry institution, which is designed for creating mineralized firebreaks and extinguishing forest fires.
Based on the results of the work, information was prepared for the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee regarding the work done by the commission, the results of the raid, including recommendations for tidying up the assigned territories.
