Beshankovichy. Raid on large families
The number of emergencies occurring indicates that many citizens neglect safety regulations, resulting not only in fires but also in fatalities and injuries to children. Unfortunately, since the beginning of the year, 66 fires have occurred in the Vitebsk region, resulting in 10 deaths.
With the aim of further educating citizens and conducting explanatory work, Beshenkovichi rescuers inspected over 50 households of large families during the past weekend. Special attention was paid to large families, families in socially dangerous situations, as well as those families that have previously come to the attention of preventive entities.
– Often, upon arriving at a particular address, the situation becomes clear from the first minutes of the visit. Many facts indicate how residents treat their safety in a given household: the presence of autonomous fire alarms, the condition of stoves and electrical wiring, leaving children unattended. – says inspector of the supervision and prevention sector Alexey Beresten. – However, simply installing an alarm is not enough; it should be periodically cleaned of dust and the power source replaced.
In turn, representatives of medical and social services drew attention to the living conditions of minors and the sanitary condition of the dwellings.
Based on the results of the work carried out, thirteen families were recommended to install autonomous fire alarms, more than 100 people have been instructed, 6 EMERCOM officers are involved in the work.
