Beshenkovichi rescuers are checking the operability of stoves in the homes of district residents
With the start of the heating season, special attention must be paid to the condition of stoves and bathhouses. The comfort and warmth in the house, as well as the safety of its residents, depend on their proper functioning and correct operation.
Employees of the Beshenkovichi District Department for Emergency Situations conduct preventive work in the housing stock: specialists visit households, conduct briefings, explain fire safety rules, and draw citizens' attention to the need for timely preparation of stove heating.
The main requirements for stove heating are:
- before operating the stove, the chimneys must be cleaned of soot;
- it is necessary to check the masonry and eliminate all cracks;
- stoves should only be heated with dry firewood;
- it is forbidden to use flammable liquids for ignition;
- do not leave heating stoves and bathhouses unattended;
- there must be a hearth mat in front of the stove, at least 50 by 70 cm in size, made of non-combustible material (tin, tile, etc.);
- ash and embers must be removed in an iron bucket to a safe place.
Rescuers pay special attention to the installation of autonomous fire alarms. These devices can detect smoke at an early stage when a person may not smell the smoke. A loud audible signal will allow timely measures to be taken and save lives.
Detectors are recommended to be installed on the ceiling in living rooms and bedrooms to wake you up and warn you of danger.
