According to operational data, as of today, 2 children have died in fires in Belarus, and 28 children have been injured. Due to children's carelessness with fire, 33 fires have occurred in the country, resulting in injuries to 8 children.

In addition, rescuers assisted children:
- In Dzerzhinsk, a boy was playing on a playground, and his leg got stuck in a swing.
- In Zhlobin, a boy fell off his bicycle, and his leg got stuck in the spokes.
- In Minsk, a girl got stuck in a metal fence.
- In Zhodino, a toddler was locked in an apartment.
- In the Minsk region, a boy got stuck in a tree.
- In Borisov, a teenager, while riding a bicycle, did not notice a mud pit and fell into it.

During the holiday period, the risk of accidents involving children increases significantly, so it is very important for adults to know and follow the rules:
- Never leave young children unattended – not even for "a minute".
Teach your child their home address and phone number; leave emergency service numbers in a designated place.
- Explain: in case of fire – immediately go outside and call for help, do not hide under any circumstances.
- Store matches, lighters, household chemicals, and medications in inaccessible and lockable places.
- Talk to children about the prohibition of playing with fire, setting grass on fire, and pranks in sheds, attics, and construction sites.
- Inspect the playground before playing; monitor the condition of swings and other structures.

- Remove poisonous plants from the property; show your child which berries and herbs are unsafe to touch or taste.
- When riding a bicycle, wear a helmet, protective gear, and spoke guards; choose flat, safe routes.
- On or near water, always under adult supervision – within arm's reach!

"Leaving children unattended in conditions dangerous to their life and health may entail administrative and criminal liability in accordance with the Code of Administrative Offences and the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (including Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus "Leaving in Danger" and Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus "Failure to Fulfill Parental Duties").

It is impossible to foresee all situations and give advice for every circumstance. However, teaching a child to be cautious is possible and necessary. And no one can do it better than parents. After all, it is your attention, love, and care that provide the most reliable protection!
