Bogdan Pukalo urgently needs help!

The parents of Pukalo Bogdan, born on March 19, 2022, ask for your support in the face of a tragedy that has befallen an ordinary family from the city of Bereza.

On October 31, 2022, their son, Pukalo Bogdan, was diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 1 (SMA1).

SMA1 is a rare but extremely dangerous genetic disease that causes muscle weakness. The disease is progressive, with weakness starting in the leg and whole-body muscles, and as the disease progresses, it affects the muscles responsible for swallowing and breathing. SMA Type 1 is the most aggressive form. Without treatment, children typically do not survive past the age of two.

Pathogenetic therapy has been developed for SMA, using the drug Zolgensma, which is administered once and is effective for life. The cost of Zolgensma is approximately $2,000,000.
