Be Careful! Beware of Snow and Icicles Falling from Roofs!
The Ministry of Emergency Situations recommends keeping a safe distance from buildings with overhanging icicles and snow when walking on the streets, and not parking vehicles near them.
Do not ignore fences where snow may fall.
If you hear a suspicious noise from above while walking on the sidewalk, do not stop, look up, or try to see what is happening. It could be falling snow or a block of ice. Do not run away from the building either. You should press yourself against the wall as quickly as possible; the roof overhang will serve as shelter.
