Environmental Protection Day

Every year on June 5, World Environment Day is celebrated in over 100 countries worldwide, and it is considered one of the most important events in the environmental calendar.
In our country, by Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the Environmental Protection Day is established as a holiday on June 5, and its celebration coincides with the date of the World Environment Day celebration. On this day, employees of the environmental protection agency and ecologists celebrate their professional holiday.
In 2024, the information campaign in honor of World Environment Day is held under the slogan "Our land. Our future" we are #GenerationRestoration" and is dedicated to the problem of land restoration, the fight against desertification and droughts.
Soil, water, and biodiversity are the main vital resources for us, also important for the global economy. Rational use of land, its restoration, and prevention of degradation is the task of the entire population of the planet.
To celebrate Environmental Protection Day in our district, the opening of an ecological trail at the State Educational Institution "Ull Secondary School of the Beshenkovichi District named after L.M. Dovator" is planned for June 6. Preparatory work for the organization of the trail was carried out by public ecologist of the Beshenkovichi District Inspectorate of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection N.V. Nesterenok with the assistance of the inspectorate and the Ull Forestry of the State Forestry Institution "Beshenkovichi Forest Enterprise".
"leskhoz". An event to clean the bank of the Zapadnaya Dvina River in the urban-type settlement of Beshenkovichi is also timed to coincide with the ecological date. This event is organized by public ecologist Lyudmila Shavel-Beresten with the volunteer group "Young Ecologist".
