Two children almost drowned in a technical reservoir. Eyewitnesses came to the rescue

The incident occurred in Soligorsk on the afternoon of September 11. Two children were playing in the yard and then decided to go to a body of water. The boy wanted to swim, but when trying to get out of the water, he slipped and began to drown. "The girl tried to save him and started drowning herself," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.

A woman was the first to notice the drowning child.

— While passing by this body of water, I saw someone drowning. I rode up on my bicycle, realized I couldn't pull the child out alone, called a man over, and called the Ministry of Emergency Situations, — the eyewitness said.

A young man came to the rescue and managed to pull the child out of the water. The rescued girl said she was not swimming alone and was trying to help her friend get out, but he remained underwater. Thanks to the efforts of two people, the boy was also saved. Before the ambulance arrived, the child received resuscitation: indirect chest compressions and artificial respiration.

The children were taken to the hospital.

Do not lose sight of children playing near bodies of water. It is best if a child plays in the water with adults. Only then can you be completely sure of their safety. If you are not participating in the games, make sure the child remains within your sight.
