Two children drowned in the Sennensky district while riding on an inflatable mattress
The tragedy occurred on Saturday around six o'clock in the evening on Lake Levanovo near the village of Adamovo, Sennensky district. When rescuers arrived at the scene, no one was observed on the surface of the lake; a campsite was set up on the shore where two families were vacationing.
Rescuers clarified the circumstances of the incident: around 17:35, one of the men on an inflatable mattress with 3 children swam about 80 meters from the shore. At some point, the inflatable mattress capsized, causing the children to fall into the water. A fisherman who was nearby at the time rescued a boy born in 2014 by boat, while two girls disappeared under the water.
Search operations for the two drowned children were initiated by rescue services. After some time, at a distance of 70 meters from the shore and a depth of 3 meters, divers from the "Vityaz" fire and rescue squad recovered the body of a 9-year-old girl from the water, and 25 minutes later, the body of her 6-year-old sister. Both showed no signs of life.
