🌾 Agriculture in Beshenkovichi District

General Information

Agriculture plays a leading role in the district's economy. Agricultural matters are overseen by the Department of Agriculture and Food of the Beshenkovichi District Executive Committee.

Total area of agricultural land: 45.1 thousand hectares
Number of people employed in agriculture: 602 people

The agro-industrial complex of the district is represented by:

  • 4 agricultural enterprises
  • 3 workshops of Vitkonprodukt LLC
  • 2 limited liability companies
  • 1 branch "Bobrovo-Agro" of Vitebskagroprodukt CJSC
  • 28 peasant farms

Agricultural organizations operate 27 livestock farms, of which 16 are dairy farms. Seven dairy farms are equipped with milking parlors.

Development Indicators (2025 results)

As of 01.01.2026, livestock population:

  • Cattle: 10.9 thousand heads
  • Cows: 4.6 thousand heads (88.6% of the previous year's level)
  • Pigs: 1.8 thousand heads

Gross agricultural output: 87.8 million rubles (99.1% of the same period in 2025), including:

  • Crop production: 30.4 million rubles (101.2%)
  • Livestock production: 57.4 million rubles (98.2%)

Crop production (2025):

  • Grain harvested: 35.1 thousand tons (5% higher than last year)
  • Grain yield: 30 centners/hectare (2.7 centners/hectare higher than last year)
  • Gross rapeseed harvest: 4.7 thousand tons (173% of the previous year's level)
  • Rapeseed yield: 18.6 centners/hectare

Livestock (2025):

  • Production of cattle and poultry in live weight: 10.3 thousand tons (96.1% of the 2024 level)
  • Cattle and poultry sold for slaughter: 10.1 thousand tons (105% of the 2024 level)
  • Average daily weight gain of cattle: 385 g (88.7% of the 2024 level)
  • Average daily weight gain of pigs: 888 g (149.5% of the 2024 level)
  • Milk produced: 19.1 thousand tons (102.6% of the 2024 level)
  • Average milk yield per cow: 3,793 kg (+194 kg compared to last year)
  • Milk sold: 17.4 thousand tons (+5.5% of the 2024 level)
  • Milk marketability: 91.2% (+5.7 percentage points compared to the 2024 level)
