Economic Potential of the District

Beshenkovichi District is located in the center of Vitebsk Region. The district center is 54 km from Vitebsk and 210 km from Minsk. The M-3 Minsk–Vitebsk highway passes through the district.

Resource Base:

  • Land Resources: Agricultural land occupies 46.1 thousand hectares (arable land – 28.5 thousand hectares). Arable land fertility – 30 points.
  • Forest Resources: Forests cover 38% of the district's area.
  • Water Resources: Western Dvina River (about 100 km), 55 lakes, 18 rivers.
  • Mineral Resources: Construction sands, clays, sand and gravel deposits.
