In the Beshenkovichi district, 28 traffic accidents involving wild animals have occurred in the elapsed period of 2025, resulting in mechanical damage to vehicles.

Recommendations from the State Automobile Inspectorate on how to avoid such incidents or minimize their consequences:

• be especially attentive when driving through forests and thickets. Passengers can be involved in observing the right shoulder of the road;
• do not ignore road signs! In areas where wild animals may appear on the road, reduce speed and increase vigilance;
• the most dangerous times are early morning and dusk. During this time, drivers' vision and attention decrease, while forest dwellers become more active. In the dark, they can be spotted by their eyes reflecting in the headlights;
• if an animal appears on the road, even at a considerable distance, reduce speed to a minimum: there may be several individuals;
• if a wild animal finds itself in the headlights at night, it becomes blinded, panics, and starts to dart around. In such a situation, you should pull over to the shoulder, turn off the headlights, leaving only the parking lights and hazard signals on, thereby giving the animal time to leave the road. Do not honk, as this can provoke an unpredictable reaction;
• in case of a collision, one must not leave the scene of the accident: administrative liability is provided for this. And if the driver takes the carcass with him, he faces a criminal charge for poaching;
• if the collision could not be avoided, one should act as in any accident: mark the scene of the incident, call emergency services, provide assistance to injured persons
