Galina Unukovich: "Our Army is Ready for Any Challenges"

On February 19, as throughout the country, a Unified Information Day is being held in the Beshenkovichi district.

Information and propaganda groups are visiting work collectives to convey current and important messages to the residents of the district.

The main theme of the February Unified Information Day is "The Defensive Power of the Belarusian Army and Patriotism in Modern Conditions."

An information and propaganda group led by the Chairman of the District Executive Committee, Galina Unukovich, arrived to discuss the designated topic, as well as other pressing issues of regional development, with the staff of the State Enterprise "PolitotdelAgro". Ivan Zdesev, chief specialist of the Main Department of Ideological Work and Youth Affairs of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, also took part in the conversation.

Galina Vladimirovna dwelled in detail on the military-political situation around our country, emphasizing that the modern Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are a reliable shield against external threats and a pillar for the stable development of the country.

"We live in interesting, but challenging times," stressed the head of the district. "Today, the situation is such that no country in the world can feel absolutely safe. In essence, the world is being reshaped, and the order that existed 10 years ago is probably no longer possible. And if we cannot be absolutely safe, then the issue of strengthening the army, its readiness for any challenges becomes one of the main ones."

According to Galina Unukovich, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus play a special role in the system of ensuring the country's national security and protecting it from external and internal threats. According to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, the Head of State is the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. It is thanks to him that we have a strong, compact, well-armed army that is capable of defending our borders and inflicting irreparable damage on any aggressor who decides to invade our territory.

The head of the district noted that within the framework of strengthening the country's defense capability, the domestic military-industrial complex is actively developing. Production of domestic missile systems and artillery ammunition of a wide range has been established. For the first time in the history of domestic missile construction, the latest Polonez-M missile system was created. Unmanned aerial vehicle systems developed earlier and adopted by the Belarusian army are being improved...

Undoubtedly, we have strategic allies – the Russian Federation, and the CSTO countries. Together, we are building a defense line aimed at strategic deterrence. Tactical nuclear weapons are deployed in Belarus, and the Oreshnik medium-range missile system has been put on combat duty. Combat skills and interaction are practiced during large-scale joint exercises.

"Today, the Belarusian army has everything necessary to defend its country," noted Galina Unukovich. "But the main value is the people. According to the latest statistical research, the level of trust in the Belarusian army is very high – over 70%. Service in the Armed Forces is an important stage in personal development. By taking the military oath, young men undertake the duty to selflessly defend the independence, territorial integrity, and constitutional order of their country."

For reference: In 2025, 30 conscripts were sent for active service in the Beshenkovichi district, and 3 people were sent for reserve service.

In her speech, Galina Unukovich emphasized the importance of raising true patriots of Belarus: "In conditions when Belarus faces large-scale external challenges, patriotism becomes an effective tool for preserving the sovereignty and independence of the Belarusian state, a pillar of national security and unity of citizens. The defense of the Fatherland has always been the highest valor for Belarusian citizens. Our country remembers and honors those who, in different years, defended the independence and sovereignty of Belarus with weapons in their hands. We are all successors of the generation of victors, those who defended the Great Victory at the cost of their lives. Every citizen must understand their role in the country's security system. This is the awareness of choice and the degree of personal responsibility," believes Galina Unukovich.

The importance of reliable information and the ability to correctly assess heard facts and ongoing events was brought to the attention of those present by a specialist from the main department of ideological work and youth affairs of the regional executive committee.

Other members of the IPG also raised very important and relevant topics during the meeting. The discussion was about the legalization of buildings and land plots, and additional funded pensions... Taking the opportunity, the political department staff asked the guests pressing questions. They concerned the quality of water in the agro-town of Komoski, the adjustment of the work schedule, and the trampling of crops on household plots.
