Galina Unukovich: current generations of Belarusians are fortunate to be born and live under a peaceful sky
Today's generations of Belarusians are fortunate to be born and live under a peaceful sky, and this is thanks to a strong President. This opinion was expressed today by the head of the district, Galina Unukovich, during a meeting with representatives of the labor collectives of the district center as part of the Unified Information Day dedicated to the upcoming elections.
"Everything that Belarus has achieved in recent decades is inextricably linked with the name of the national leader – Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko," emphasized Galina Vladimirovna. "The reason is simple – our President deeply perceives his election by the Belarusian people as his life mission. This is his trait, and it favorably distinguishes him from other political figures."
During the meeting, Galina Unukovich dwelled in detail on the country's successes, and there are many of them. A sovereign and independent state for the people has been built. A unique model of people's power has been formed. Belarus is a country with a low level of social stratification of the population by income.
Our country independently provides for itself in all strategically important areas of life. Under the leadership of the Head of State, it has been possible not only to preserve and modernize our industrial giants (MAZ, BELAZ, MTZ, BZ) but also to create completely new, high-tech enterprises (Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant, China-Belarus Industrial Park "Great Stone", "BELGEE" plant, Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation, and other landmark facilities). This means that hundreds of thousands of jobs have been created, and the country's economic independence and political sovereignty have been ensured.
Belarus accounts for about 80 percent of the tractors produced in the CIS, about 50 percent of chemical fibers and threads, and one-fifth of refrigerators and freezers.
The country ranks among the world leaders in the production of heavy-duty trucks. The industrial complex accounts for almost a third of the country's GDP and 80 percent of its goods exports.
Belarus is a space power. A significant stage in deepening and expanding cooperation between Belarus and colleagues in the club of space powers was the flight of Belarusian cosmonaut Marina Vasilevskaya to the Russian segment of the International Space Station. There are four Belarusian satellites in orbit. The Internet, television, mobile communication, navigation, weather forecasting, and many other tasks of civilization are provided thanks to them. And this is not the limit; we have already begun to implement new promising projects.
The level of Belarusian specialists in IT technologies and artificial intelligence is known worldwide and needs no further advertisement.
Such traditional industries for our country as microelectronics, instrument engineering, and machine tool manufacturing have received a second wind in recent years and are developing at an accelerated pace.
Belarus did not follow the IMF's "recommendations" to reduce state support for agricultural enterprises. Thanks to the far-sighted policy of the Head of State, his experience in managing "from the land," and the hard work of Belarusians, today we not only provide ourselves with food but have also become one of the top five exporters in Europe.
Increased attention is paid to the development of regions. In terms of implementing investment projects "One District – One Project," almost half of all districts will implement two projects each, and every tenth district will implement three. This year, thanks to the implementation of 180 projects, more than 9,000 jobs have been created in the country.
Today, houses and hospitals, new metro stations are being built in Belarus, sports complexes are being commissioned, and shop shelves are overflowing with an abundance of goods. Our food and light industries are known worldwide.
The social state remains an unchanging national brand of Belarus, demonstrating care for its citizens by actively developing healthcare and the social sphere, and providing assistance to low-income segments of the population. Over the past three years, more than 12.8 million square meters have been commissioned, of which about 3.775 million are for citizens registered as needing improved housing conditions, and over 600 thousand are rental housing.
The healthcare sector, as well as the preservation and enhancement of cultural and historical heritage, are under special control of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
Since Alexander Lukashenko was elected President, the uncompromising and decisive fight against corruption has been a key element of domestic policy.
Independent Belarus consistently demonstrates a peaceful foreign policy. The republic's international authority is growing. In the ranking of countries by achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (poverty eradication, environmental and social problem-solving), Belarus ranks 30th, ahead of all CIS countries, as well as the USA.
"The sovereignty of any state largely depends on the head of the country's ability to conduct effective national security policy," stated Galina Unukovich. "The current generations of Belarusians are fortunate to be born and live under a peaceful sky. This is also a merit of a strong President."
Certainly, special attention at the meeting was focused on the key aspects of the election campaign, including compliance with the deadlines set by the Constitution and the Electoral Code, as well as the importance of transparency and organizational level of the elections. As the President noted at a recent meeting, "Our task is to hold elections at a high level, so that the interests of the people are put at the forefront."
