Civil servants and employees of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee took part in a water trip dedicated to the Day of National Unity
The event was aimed at patriotic, spiritual, and ecological education, preservation of the traditions of mass tourism, development of interest in natural attractions, and popularization of active recreation. The organizers were structural divisions of the regional executive committee and regional trade union organizations.
The water trip program consisted of three stages: tourist, local history, and sports and entertainment. The starting point of the route was the village of Zapolie, where participants were welcomed by local residents with bread and salt, a commemorative rally was held, and flowers were laid at the war memorial. After that, 13 kayaks (two people per team) paddled down the Usvyacha River for three hours to the settlement of Novoselki.
– It was very atmospheric and emotional! And although many participated in such a trip for the first time, it was clearly felt: together we are strength. My colleague and I became winners and reached the finish line first. It was not easy, but I believe we coped with the difficulties with dignity! – said Lilia Lukashova, chief specialist of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Regional Executive Committee.
– The event is very interesting and memorable! Our large team acted in unison. I wish that such fun, kind, and significant events were held year after year, – shared her impressions Marina Gudym, chief specialist of the Department for the Management of State Property of the Regional Executive Committee.
– It is symbolic that employees of various structural divisions of the Regional Executive Committee and residents of the Vitebsk region took part in the event dedicated to the Day of National Unity, – noted Denis Shkiryanov, Deputy Head of the Department of Sports and Tourism. – Such a trip is being held for the second year in a row, but this time the number of its participants has significantly increased. For those who have never kayaked down a river, the distance became a difficult challenge, however, we reached the finish line as a truly cohesive team, and every small victory resulted in great shared emotions!
