"Great Stone" Industrial Park to Host International Forum for the First Time

 

On July 2, 2019, the "Great Stone" Industrial Park will host the Forum on Regional Cooperation and Development within the framework of the "Belt and Road" Initiative, with the main theme being "Open Great Stone Park – A Model of Global Opportunities".

The park is an international platform for the creation of high-tech industries in advanced fields of activity with the application of unprecedented benefits and preferences. To date, 44 companies from the PRC, the Republic of Belarus, Austria, Germany, Russia, Lithuania, the USA, and Israel operate in "Great Stone", and the volume of declared investments exceeds 1 billion US dollars.

The Forum on Regional Cooperation and Development within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative – is the first large-scale event on the territory of the park, which will be a continuation of the second forum of international cooperation "Belt and Road", held in April 2019 in Beijing.

The forum will bring together about 500 participants from European and Asian countries – representatives of governments, heads of business associations, investment funds, banks, as well as major companies.

The participation of states in the global initiative "One Belt, One Road" will be the key topic of the plenary session. Innovative development and new technologies, transport and logistics systems, prospects for cooperation with financial institutions, and the development of "Great Stone" as a "smart" eco-city will be discussed by participants in 4 panel sessions. The signing of a number of bilateral documents and the registration of new park residents are planned.

The Forum is a landmark event for the industrial park "Great Stone" and for the economic life of the Republic of Belarus. It will allow presenting the investment potential of the park, and for participants, it will be an opportunity to expand and strengthen business ties.

The Forum is organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. Co-organizers include: the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Bureau for the Promotion of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, the administration of the "Great Stone" industrial park, the State Institution "National Agency of Investment and Privatization", and the Closed Joint-Stock Company "Industrial Park Development Company".

The organizer of the exhibition of Belarusian goods and services is the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (UP "Belinterexpo" of the CCI), the organizer of the exhibition of Chinese goods is China Machinery Engineering Corporation, the organizer of the permanent exposition is "China Merchants CN-BLR Commercial and Logistics Company".
