To the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War: A Unified Information Day is held in the Beshenkovichi district

Today, on the eve of the memorable date – the 85th anniversary of the start of the Great Patriotic War – a Unified Information Day is being held in the Beshenkovichi district, as well as throughout the country.

The theme of the meetings in work collectives is dedicated to preserving historical truth and the feat of the Belarusian people.

“June 22 is not just a calendar date. It is a boundary that divided the lives of millions of people into ‘before’ and ‘after’,” emphasized Elena Baranova, Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee, at a meeting with the staff of the district department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. - And our task is to ensure that current and future generations know the truth about that war, know the price of peaceful skies, and remember at what cost it was achieved.”

The war, unfortunately, left deep wounds on the Beshenkovichi land. Speakers reminded those present of the horrific facts of genocide that continue to be uncovered during the investigation by the Prosecutor General's Office. In our district alone, the Nazis created 4 ghettos... Fascists destroyed entire villages, such as Khotino, Korenevo, Zabolotye...

Special emphasis in the speeches is placed on the theme of historical memory, which today, more than ever, is becoming the foundation of our sovereignty. Meeting participants discussed the importance of passing on the truth about the war to the younger generation and countering attempts to rewrite history.
