"Stone of Remembrance" from Beshenkovichi became part of the memorial in Kronstadt.

In honor of the 320th anniversary of the Marine Corps in their historical homeland and the base of the Baltic Fleet, a series of military-memorial events was held in St. Petersburg and Kronstadt.
Among them was the international public-patriotic forum "320 Years: Russia - Belarus. Marine Brotherhood is Indestructible!", within the framework of which the opening ceremony of the "Stone of Remembrance", transferred from our Beshenkovichi land, took place.

The goal of the international public-patriotic forum "320 Years: Russia - Belarus. Marine Brotherhood is Indestructible!" is to strengthen ties, preserve the memory of the heroic past, and develop cultural cooperation within the Union State.

The organizer of the event is the All-Russian public organization of naval infantrymen "Typhoon". Support is provided by the government of St. Petersburg, the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, the Federation Council, Rosvoentcenter, and associations of USSR Navy veterans.

Under the auspices of the military-patriotic movement "Marine Brotherhood is Indestructible!", more than 180 large-scale historical and cultural events dedicated to the indestructible marine brotherhood of the peoples of the two states have been held in the regions of Russia and Belarus since 2013. One of the most notable actions within the framework of the "Marine Brotherhood is Indestructible!" movement was the "Stones of Remembrance" project, timed to coincide with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Its official launch took place in Beshenkovichi in September 2024. As a reminder, at that time, within the framework of "Dozhynki – 2024", public organizations of the Russian Federation were presented with a certificate for the transfer of commemorative symbolic signs, consecrated according to Orthodox canons, in the form of Belarusian boulders titled "Frozen Tears of the Mother of Belarus for Her Sons".
And on November 14 of this year, with the participation of representatives of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Belarus, a ceremony was held for sending the "Stone of Remembrance" from Beshenkovichi to Kronstadt.
And on November 28, the solemn opening of the memorial sign took place in the port city. A boulder of a rare breed, brought from Beshenkovichi, with a commemorative plaque in honor of Russian and Belarusian marines, has been installed in a square with the sculptural composition "Peterhof Landing".

...A round table, excursions, a prayer service, a concert – it should be noted that the forum program was quite rich in memorable events. Deputies of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Heroes of Russia and Heroes of Labor of the Russian Federation, People's Artists of Russia, and representatives of the cities of Gelendzhik, Novorossiysk, and Moscow took part in them.

On the Belarusian side, representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Russian Federation, deputies of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, cultural figures, and students of Belarusian educational institutions were present. Among the honored guests was a delegation from the Beshenkovichi District, led by the Chairperson of the District Executive Committee, Galina Unukovich. It is noteworthy that our young compatriots – members of the military-patriotic club "Patriot" of Secondary School No. 2 in Beshenkovichi named after M.N. Tkachenko, and pupils of the drum and baton ensemble "Ritm" of the Beshenkovichi Children's Art School – had the opportunity to participate in the forum. Elena Yadvreskaya, Director of the Beshenkovichi Children's Art School, and Victoria Dogaleva, head of the "Ritm" ensemble, as well as Inna Matievskaya, a teacher from the second school, and Sergey Shupenok, Director of the Beshenkovichi PMS, also traveled to St. Petersburg. Representatives of our delegation note that their participation in the forum was a very significant event for them.

…As is known, Belarus is not a maritime country; it is continental. Nevertheless, 200,000 of its representatives served in the USSR Navy, and over 70 people with Belarusian roots became admirals. 20 servicemen received the titles of Heroes of the Soviet Union. The fraternal peoples of Belarus and Russia are united by a common history and a sincere attitude towards their Fatherland. The memory of the courage and glorious feat of the soldiers who defended the Motherland is destined for eternal life.
