Summer is a happy but dangerous time.
The summer period brings not only the joy of holidays for children, the opportunity to sunbathe and swim, to walk, but also high risks to life and health.
Throughout 2019 – the elapsed period of 2020, no accidents on the water (in places of mass presence of local residents) were recorded in the Beshenkovichi district.
A positive trend has also developed in terms of road traffic accidents: in 2020 (0 – road traffic accidents resulting in serious bodily injuries or death), in the analogous period of 2019 (5 – road traffic accidents resulting in serious bodily injuries or death), of which 0 were committed by drivers under the influence of alcohol in 2020 (1 in 2019). Deaths in road traffic accidents in 2020 – 0 (in the analogous period of 2019 – 5), in 2020 – 0 (injured in 2019 – 3).
At the same time, 11 fires were recorded in the district in 2020 (the indicator is equal to the analogous period of 2019), in which 3 people died in 2020 (4 in 2019), and 3 fires occurred due to violation of the rules for operating stove equipment in 2020 (1 in 2019).
In order to maintain a positive trend, caring for the safety of life and health of citizens, the district prosecutor's office informs about the need to comply with elementary rules of conduct on the water, road traffic, as well as in everyday life by all residents and guests of the district.
In addition, summer also accounts for the peak of child injuries, which should not be ignored: school holidays, a trip to grandma's in the village, open windows and inviting cool reservoirs – exploring unfamiliar areas, a child is at risk not only of getting hurt, but also of causing serious harm to their health. You always have to be on the alert with children; take safety measures by tidying up the apartment, house, and yard.
Protruding pins, sharp edges, dangerous corners, access to electricity and chemicals, the possibility of falling – all this must be neutralized by adults.
A special point is swimming in reservoirs. Having taught a child to swim and explained the danger of depth, you still cannot leave them alone with the water element; someone must observe this process. Many children suffer in road traffic accidents: as a rule, these are the most severe injuries. And given the ever-increasing flow of cars, studying traffic rules and parental example of their observance can become one of the main life lessons.
