You have many concrete tasks ahead. With this parting message, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko addressed the participants of the New Year's Ball for Youth at the Palace of Independence, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.

"Much has been said at the All-Belarusian People's Assembly, at other events: about the year, the five-year plan. As for today, this is a time for concrete deeds. You have done a great job. You study excellently. You are successful people. This is your foundation for the future. But you have many concrete tasks ahead. And, I repeat, always do these tasks on time. No lectures. Just my advice," said the head of state. "Because new worries, new tasks will come, and you haven't done the old ones. All this will overwhelm you and remain a heavy burden, a legacy for all of you. Therefore, do everything on time."

Alexander Lukashenko noted that student years are difficult and challenging times for many, as it is during these years that the foundation for life is laid. "Therefore, create with concrete deeds," urged the Belarusian leader.

He wished that for the participants of the ball, this event would be not only a bright occasion but also a place where they would find new friends or their soulmates for their future lives: "I really want you, talented and smart, to find equally talented and smart friends here. If it works out - for life. I will only be glad. I wish you a good mood today, success this evening. Dance, love, smile!"

Speaking about holding the ball, Alexander Lukashenko recalled that the tradition of holding such events was born at one time. And the existence of traditions is a sign of a sovereign and independent country.

The President emphasized that the traditional New Year's Ball in Belarus turned out to be even better and grander than the famous Viennese balls.

"At the end of the year, we always sum up the results. Including here. There are no random people here. Every detail is thought out," the Belarusian leader stressed. "Here are people who have achieved success in education, science, culture, and sports. And definitely the most beautiful ones."

According to him, the only debate was whether to re-appoint the current Minister of Culture Ruslan Chernetsky as the dance master for the ball. "But since he is a great professional and connoisseur of all this, I agreed that the Minister of Culture should continue (as it was before, when he was not the Minister of Culture) to lead and organize this wonderful ball," said Alexander Lukashenko.
