Lukashenko Approves Belarus Defense Plan for 2026-2030
He explained that the Security Council meeting reviewed the results of nearly a year's work by the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, and republican government bodies on planning the country's defense for the next five years. The preparation of the document took into account the approaches laid down in the National Security Concept, the Military Doctrine, and approved by the All-Belarusian People's Congress.
According to Pavel Muraveiko, the President thoroughly familiarized himself with the content of the document and the proposed key approaches to state defense: how to counteract threats arising around Belarus and deter military conflicts, what the readiness is to repel aggression, and what actions are necessary to ensure peace and security on the territory of Belarus.
"The Head of State reviewed and approved all documents (submitted for his consideration. - BELTA note), the action plan of our country to ensure military security and defense. A decree on the approval of the defense plan as a whole is being prepared for signing," informed the Chief of the General Staff.
