Lukashenko Instructs to Form a Group at the National Bank to Analyze the Economic Situation
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has instructed to form a group at the National Bank to analyze the economic situation. He announced this while receiving a report from Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, a BELTA correspondent reports.
"I want you to know, so there's no jealousy here. I asked the former prime minister (there are no former ones) - a young, educated, experienced man, so that he (referring to Roman Golovchenko, who now heads the National Bank. - BELTA Note) creates a group in his National Bank. And there are such people in the National Bank - smart, competent, knowledgeable in economics. And so that they help in parallel with the State Control Committee. Because it's not entirely the function of the State Control Committee, you know what it should be doing. So that they inform me and analyze the situation in the economy. And everything is visible through money. You are an economist, you understand," said Alexander Lukashenko."Therefore, no offense. I asked Golovchenko: 'Form such a group for me in the National Bank, you are its head and you must objectively analyze and report to me. Because my impression is one thing. And these are specialists. This, of course, will not be classified information. The Prime Minister must see it and will see it'," added the Belarusian leader.
