Lukashenko expects to reach $500 million trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan by 2030

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko expects to reach $500 million in trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan by 2030. He announced this at a meeting with the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers - Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev, a BELTA correspondent reports.

"We are ready for the entire spectrum of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. We treat you, your government, and your people with great respect. And we are ready to reach the level of trade turnover that we are discussing in whispers today - about 500 million dollars. I don't even want to set a date. It will be very good if we reach it by 2030. But we can and must do it," said the head of state.

The President also pointed out specific areas of cooperation with Kyrgyzstan. One of these areas is the mining industry, where Belarus has certain competencies.

"We are ready to work on our old contracts and projects, which were characteristic of Belarus from Soviet times, and to participate in your projects. We are particularly interested in the mining industry, as we have everything necessary for the extraction and transportation of rocks to processing plants," added Alexander Lukashenko.

The head of state noted that during the official visit, which began on September 2"Rest assured that we will fulfill everything we have promised to our Kyrgyz friends," stated Alexander Lukashenko.

Adylbek Kasymaliyev agreed that the parties have all the opportunities to bring the trade turnover to the indicated level of $500 million. He noted that a number of documents on the development of cooperation in various sectors were signed on the eve, the main one being a roadmap until 2030.

The Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan also said that before flying to Belarus, he had a meeting with the President of the country, Sadyr Japarov. "He conveyed the warmest words of greeting to you and very positively received my official visit to Belarus," noted Adylbek Kasymaliyev.
