President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 337 "On Providing Support to Sports Organizations" on September 17. BELTA was informed about this by the press service of the Belarusian leader.

The document provides for the introduction of a new mechanism for state support of federations and sports clubs, which are granted the right to receive subsidies with strictly targeted spending of funds. Federations can receive subsidies from the republican budget, and clubs for team and individual sports can receive them from local budgets.

Simultaneously, support through sponsors receiving benefits on property tax, land tax, and profit tax will cease.

The Council of Ministers will regulate the amount of subsidies, the total support received by federations and clubs from state organizations in the form of sponsorship, advertising, and other forms, as well as the salaries of heads of federations, athletes, coaches, and other specialists.

Budgetary financing will be maintained for clubs that are budgetary organizations.

At the same time, the decree does not limit the ability to independently dispose of earned funds and sponsorship received from private organizations.

In addition, to stimulate high sports results, a team prize fund is being created for team sports clubs. The procedure for awarding and the amount of prizes based on the results of the sports season will also be determined by the government.

The Ministry of Sport will exercise control over the use of support funds by federations and clubs from state organizations and compliance with legislation in the field of physical culture and sport.

The measures provided for by the decree will ensure the uniform and objective distribution of state support funds, as well as control over their use.

The current decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus of April 15, 2013 No. 191 "On providing support to sports organizations" will cease to be effective on December 31, 2025.
