Lukashenko Hears Reports from Heads of State Border Committee, Ministry of Internal Affairs, and Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Border Situation, Including Lithuanian Direction

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard reports on November 12 from the Chairman of the State Border Committee Konstantin Molostov, the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov, BelTA reports.

Chairman of the State Border Committee Konstantin Molostov reported on the overall situation at the state border, specifically focusing on the situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian section. Information was presented on the operational situation, the actions of border guard agencies in cooperation with other departments, and the implementation of the President's instructions.

The discussion also covered the development and improvement of the agency's work as a whole, and areas that require special attention given the current challenging conditions. This includes strengthening border security through the renewal and modernization of border infrastructure and technical means.

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ivan Kubrakov, informed the Head of State about the situation in the border area, where due to Lithuania's closure of border crossing points, more than 1,000 trucks have accumulated, including those abandoned along the roadside. He also reported on the implementation of previously given instructions regarding the relocation of vehicles to guarded parking lots. These tasks are currently being carried out. The measures taken by law enforcement agencies are aimed at ensuring road traffic safety. In accordance with the President's instructions, drivers who find themselves in a difficult situation are provided with the necessary assistance. Ivan Kubrakov also reported that the situation in the border territory is under the control of internal affairs bodies, and enhanced public order protection is ensured.

The main topic of the report by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhenkov, to the Head of State today was interaction with Lithuania. In particular, it concerned the work carried out by the Belarusian side aimed at resolving the current crisis situation at the border in the shortest possible time. The President has given the necessary instructions regarding further actions and the negotiation position of the Belarusian side with the aim of returning to the normal operation of border crossing points.
