President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko heard reports from the Chairman of the State Control Committee Vasily Gerasimov and the Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov on November 5, BelTA reports.

The Chairman of the SCC reported on the results of the inspection carried out in the road sector. The head of state had previously set a corresponding task (on monitoring) for the State Control Committee. The quality of construction work in the construction and reconstruction of roads and bridges was checked, and the issue of purchasing new road machinery was studied.

The second topic of the head of state's conversation with the Chairman of the SCC was the effective use of land and state property. This concerns the involvement of land in economic circulation and the demolition of certain old buildings. The President had previously instructed to conduct a full audit of unused agricultural facilities and determine their possible purpose. Vasily Gerasimov reported on the identified shortcomings in these matters.

The President was also informed about the inspection of the implementation of the instruction on long-term construction projects. In particular, regarding the approaches defined for unfinished facilities throughout the country. It was reported that the number of such facilities has significantly decreased in recent years, but a number of problematic issues remain.

The State Control Committee, in further implementing the President's directive, is monitoring the restoration of order (until November 7). This applies to the country as a whole, and especially to the Vitebsk region, where Alexander Lukashenko recently held a meeting on the region's development. The Chairman of the State Control Committee reported on the interim results. The President noted the importance of focusing not only on the external restoration of order but also on addressing more global issues. After November 7, the Head of State instructed the SCC to thoroughly check the state of affairs throughout the country and, after the weekend, to provide him with a detailed report on how the order restoration directive is being implemented.

In addition, during the report, Alexander Lukashenko instructed the State Control Committee to study the markets for the circulation of tobacco products and alcohol-containing products, from quota allocation to the circulation of these products within the country.

Ivan Kubrakov reported to the Head of State on the operational situation in the country and, in particular, on crime statistics in the criminal investigation department. The situation is calm and under the control of law enforcement agencies; the trend of declining crime continues. As the Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs assured, the work on prevention, previously instructed by the President, is yielding results. A report was also made on the work to solve past crimes – high-profile ones, as well as crimes that are under the President's control.

Another topic is combating cybercrime. Alexander Lukashenko has repeatedly called this an extremely important issue and tasked law enforcement agencies with protecting people from such criminal encroachments. Ivan Kubrakov reported on current trends - for the first time in the country, it has been possible to reverse the situation, with a decrease in this type of crime by approximately 10%. Measures taken by the police to protect citizens were reported. The President set the task to pay special attention to and assist elderly people.

During the report, the issue of combating illicit drug trafficking was also discussed, and dynamics and statistics in this regard were reported. In general, the situation in this area, as reported, is under control.

An important topic of the report was road safety issues. Emphasis was placed on problematic aspects and causes that lead to tragic consequences on the road. In particular, the President was briefed on the results of the work carried out after the amendment of traffic rules. The Head of State was interested in how the public perceives changes in legislation regarding road safety, especially concerning personal mobility devices.

Ivan Kubrakov also reported to the Head of State on migration statistics and the operational situation.

The President gave specific instructions on all issues.
