More boys than girls are born in Belarus

February 26, Minsk /Elena Prus - BELTA/. More boys than girls are born in Belarus, the Ministry of Statistics and Analysis informed a BELTA correspondent. Thus, last year 53,330 boys and 50,095 girls were born, in 2006 - 49,849 and 46,872 respectively, in 2005 - 46,401 and 44,107. In 2007, 103.4 thousand children were born in the country. Compared to 2006, the number of infants increased by 6.7 thousand people, or by 6.9%. The trend of increasing birth rate in the republic has been observed since 2002.-0-
