Memorandum of Cooperation

On June 3, the head of the Belarusian environmental agency, Sergey Maslyak, and the Minister of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia, B. Bat-Erdene, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of environmental protection between the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of Mongolia.According to the signed document, cooperation will be carried out in the following areas:
reduction of negative anthropogenic impact on the environment in order to ensure favorable living conditions for the population and improve the state of the natural environment;
promotion of the principles of the "green" economy, the circular economy, and the low-carbon economy;
mitigation of the consequences of climate change and adaptation to its changes in various sectors of the economy;
protection of atmospheric air, including the reduction of both pollutant emissions and long-range transport of air pollutants;
protection of fauna and flora, especially rare and endangered species;
protection and management of protected areas.(nature reserves, national parks, sanctuaries, natural monuments);
development of ecotourism within protected areas (nature reserves, national parks, sanctuaries, natural monuments);
waste management;
water resource management;
environmental education and awareness, and the rational use of natural resources.
