A month of security assurance during the spring sowing campaign starts on March 25
The month-long campaign to ensure safety during the spring sowing campaign will start on March 25 and last until April 30. District and city executive committees have already drawn up schedules for inspections. These will be carried out by 26 mobile groups established under the district executive committees, which also include representatives of supervisory and control bodies, trade unions, the center for hygiene, epidemiology, and public health, supervisory agencies, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the Department of Internal Affairs.
"The annual practice of conducting month-long campaigns shows that despite some positive results in the agro-industrial complex as a whole, for not all employers, addressing labor protection issues has become a priority over production results," the committee noted. Among the facts revealed during past raids were violations of labor and production discipline. These were committed by both officials of employers who organized the work and by the executors.
Last spring, during the safety month, mobile groups inspected 403 facilities in 167 organizations. Specialists identified about 2,000 violations of legislative requirements. At that time, the operation of 199 units of equipment (machines, mechanisms) was suspended, and 24 types of work were prohibited. Most often, non-compliance with safety requirements for operating machines and equipment, the use of personal protective equipment, and the timing and procedure for conducting briefings were identified; less often, issues related to the organization of medical examinations, medical assessments, and others were found.
No cases of worker injuries were recorded during the past sowing campaign while preparing and repairing agricultural machinery, the committee noted.
The month-long campaign in the region may be extended if the regional executive committee makes an appropriate decision. Last year, raids were conducted for nine weeks.
