International Competition "Together Against Corruption!"

The Republic of Belarus is a party to the UN Convention Against Corruption. The Law of the Republic of Belarus "On the Ratification of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption" designates the Prosecutor General's Office as the body coordinating its implementation.

In accordance with Article 13 of the said Convention, each State Party shall take appropriate measures to promote the active participation of individuals and groups outside the public sector in the prevention of and fight against corruption, and to deepen public understanding of the existence, causes, and serious nature of corruption, as well as the threats it poses.

With a view to organizing constructive international cooperation, creating an atmosphere of intolerance towards corruption, and taking joint effective measures to combat this negative social phenomenon, Belarus, along with Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan, actively participates in the activities of the Interstate Council on Combating Corruption, a sectoral cooperation body of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

The members of the council decided to hold the International Youth Competition of Social Anti-Corruption Advertising "Together Against Corruption!", open to participants from all countries.

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation acted as the organizer of the international competition, with the Prosecutor General's Offices of the Republic of Armenia, the Republic of Belarus, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Civil Service Affairs and Anti-Corruption, and the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption of the Republic of Tajikistan as co-organizers.

Contestants aged 10 to 25 are invited to prepare thematic social advertising in the nominations "Best Drawing", "Best Poster", and "Best Video".

It is expected that the competition entries will reflect modern state mechanisms for combating corruption at all levels and in all spheres of society and state activity, as well as the role and significance of international cooperation in this area.
