The Minister for Emergency Situations paid a working visit to the Vitebsk region

Vadim Siniavsky visited Vitebsk region on a working trip, where he familiarized himself with the progress of reconstruction of several facilities.

With the crew of a Mi-8 helicopter of the Ministry of Emergency Situations aviation, he had the opportunity to assess the fire hazard situation in the region from a bird's-eye view.

After visiting the Ministry of Emergency Situations aviation detachment, based at the Ozerki airfield in the Postavy district, meeting with personnel, and awarding distinguished employees, the head of the department held a series of meetings in Polotsk. The focus of the minister's attention was the site of the reconstructed fire and rescue station. Here, on the instructions of the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, Vadim Siniavsky met with representatives of the developer and the design organization. The reconstruction of the historical building is being carried out simultaneously with its restoration. The most prominent part of the fire station, built in 1927, is the 33-meter-high watchtower, a high-rise dominant feature of the entire historical center. Rescuers and builders discussed the progress of repair and restoration work, problematic issues, and ways to resolve them.

Vadim Siniavsky also visited facilities for the XI Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, which will be held on June 27-28 in Vitebsk region. In particular, he visited Polotsk State University and the former House of Officers, which officially transferred to the university. Repair and reconstruction are also underway here. During the meeting with PSU Rector Yuri Romanovsky, the main emphasis was placed on the fire safety of the facilities and readiness to ensure all necessary measures for the safe and comfortable conduct of this significant event uniting the peoples of Belarus and Russia.
