The Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor's Office, in cooperation with specialists from the Beshenkovichi Inspectorate for Natural Resources and Environmental Protection, conducted raid activities concerning the improvement of settlements, their proper maintenance, and compliance with sanitary and environmental requirements.

During the raid activities, territories within the boundaries of the settlements of Rubizh of Verkhnekrivinsky Village Council and Frolkovichi of Ullsky Village Council of Beshenkovichi District were inspected. The inspections revealed unauthorized dumps of household waste located in close proximity to residential buildings and agricultural lands, which significantly degrades the aesthetic perception of the environment and poses a threat of soil contamination.

According to the Rules for the Improvement and Maintenance of Settlements, approved by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus No. 1087 dated 28.11.2012, the responsibility for the improvement, maintenance (operation) of territories on public lands is assigned to local executive and administrative bodies or legal entities authorized by them.

The requirements of Article 44 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Local Government and Self-Government" dated 04.01.2010 No. 108-Z, Article 11 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Environmental Protection", and Article 12 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "On Waste Management" oblige primary-level executive committees to ensure the improvement and maintenance of proper sanitary conditions in the respective territory, involve citizens and organizations in carrying out such work, and organize work for the removal of municipal waste generated in their territory.

The identified violations of legislation on the maintenance of settlements are unacceptable, as they contribute to environmental pollution by waste, harm environmental safety, and infringe upon the rights and legitimate interests of citizens.

Following the inspection, the district prosecutor issued directives to the chairmen of the Verkhnekrivinsky and Ullsky Village Executive Committees, demanding immediate measures to eliminate the violations of legislation on the improvement and maintenance of settlements and environmental protection legislation.
