The event was attended by Olga Lapotinskaya, Rector of the Vitebsk Regional Institute for the Development of Education, Irina Drozdova, Head of the Education Department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, as well as representatives of Polotsk State University named after Euphrosyne of Polotsk, and Chinese language teachers from the city's schools.

Among the invited guests were representatives of the Economics Department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, who helped the school establish partnerships with the city of Mudanjiang, People's Republic of China.

– I am confident that the students who study at this center will be able to benefit from their knowledge. Familiarity with Chinese culture and traditions will allow them to build bridges of friendship between Belarus and China, just as our President does, – emphasized Olga Lapotinskaya.

After the opening ceremony, Natalia Shcherbakova, a foreign language teacher at Secondary School No. 8, presented her experience in teaching Chinese to students in grades 3-5, demonstrated methodological developments, a Telegram channel where she shares her work with colleagues, and also conducted a master class in Chinese calligraphy for the guests.

The opening of the Center will help foster interest in the study of the language and culture of the Celestial Empire among both schoolchildren and their parents.

Representatives of the city of Mudanjiang, People's Republic of China, a sister city of Polotsk, sent video greetings on the occasion of the opening of the resource center.
