For 3 months, the driver stole saved fuel

    The Beshenkovichi District Prosecutor's Office supported the state prosecution in the criminal case against the driver of a state-owned economic entity.

    As established, in the period from 06.02.2025 to 14.05.2025, the driver of the state organization L., being a financially responsible person, by embezzlement stole at least 322 liters of diesel fuel, which he had saved while working on the vehicle assigned to him.

    L. sold the said fuel for cash to his acquaintances at a discount, and spent the proceeds on his own needs.

    During the preliminary investigation of the criminal case, the accused fully compensated for the damage caused.

    Based on the evidence provided by the state prosecutor, the Beshenkovichi District Court found L. guilty of embezzlement of property entrusted to him. He was sentenced to 2 years of restriction of liberty without referral to an open-type correctional institution, with a fine of 100 basic units, which amounts to 4200 rubles, without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities.

    Also, in accordance with Article 9 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 06.05.2025 No. 70-Z "On Amnesty in connection with the 80th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War," the accused was partially released from punishment in the form of restriction of liberty for one year.

     The court's verdict has entered into force.
