A series of preventive measures will be held in the Beshenkovichi district
For the current period of 2024, 7 fires have occurred in the Beshenkovichi district (+40% compared to the same period in 2023, when 5 fires occurred), 2 people died in fires (a twofold increase: last year 1 person died.
The largest number of people killed in fires in the housing stock in 2023 and the preceding 3 years was registered in the Beshenkovichi and Ullsky rural councils of the Beshenkovichi district.
Due to the current operational situation and the sharp increase in the number of fires in the residential sector, a decision has been made to carry out a series of preventive measures in the Verkhovsky and Verkhnekrivinsky rural councils of the Beshenkovichi district from May 15 to 18.
During the week, prevention entities will conduct explanatory work with citizens, paying special attention to single and elderly people living alone, disabled individuals, and persons at risk, inspect their homes for fire safety, conduct safety lessons in educational institutions, and meet with the population.
Also, from May 15, the Republican campaign "Do not leave children unattended!" starts, which will last until June 1. Child injuries and deaths are the result of the carelessness of adults who were supposed to look after them but at some point relaxed their vigilance. Teaching children safety rules, conducting interesting educational contests and games – all this and moreonly rescuers offer as part of the campaign.
In order to prevent disaster, rescuers once again remind about the importance of teaching children fire safety rules: tell children about fire-safe behavior, be an example and role model. Rescue service number – 101!
