This opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Subbotin, at a meeting on ensuring the sustainable development of the Vitebsk region, chaired by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.

– Over the past 4 years of the five-year plan, there has been growth in the main performance indicators of the real sector of the economy. 8 out of 13 sectors of the manufacturing industry have increased production volumes, the service sector shows positive dynamics, and we are increasing export supplies, – reported the head of the regional administration. – In agriculture, as a result of certain organizational measures, the construction of dairy farms, including thanks to the President's support, there has been an increase in livestock production (105.6%). Positive dynamics in individual indicators are maintained in the current year.

Investment activity of businesses is observed in the region. More than 160 investment projects have been implemented in the real sector, one-third of which are in small and medium-sized settlements. More than 2,000 new jobs have been created.

The region's budget revenues have doubled since the beginning of the five-year plan, with over 700 million rubles received above the plan. The financial condition in the region has improved. The number of loss-making organizations is one of the lowest in the country.

The debt burden on the region has decreased: both in terms of the share of debt obligations to revenue (and their level is below the national average), and in relation to obligations to the budget.

Over the past 10 years, previously accumulated budget debts exceeding 300 million dollars have been repaid. The outflow of employed individuals from the economy has slowed down. Nominal and real wages are growing.

– Yes, there are still many problems, we understand this and see ways to solve them, – the head of the region expressed his confidence.
